Happy whiskers, waggy tails!
Julie is our company founder and she's always adored animals. Starting a pet-sitting business had been a dream of hers since 2014, and in 2024 she decided it was time to branch out from pet-sitting for friends and family, to pet-sitting for everyone. She began to create her own business revolving around caring for pets like the family they are, and providing lots of updates for owners who may be a little on the nervous side about leaving their pets.
She's canine first aid trained, DBS checked and always carries a first aid kit with her when with your pets. Julie has had previous experience of volunteering at animal rescue centres, including with hedgehogs and donkeys!
When she's not at work, you can usually find her curled up with a cup of tea and a good book.
John is Julie's husband, and has enjoyed helping support her pet-sitting business. His background is in academia and (human) healthcare, but he now very much appreciates a job where the clients are so friendly (and usually fluffy!)
He's always enjoyed being around animals, and is delighted to meet so many on an almost daily basis. Julie thought it would be a good idea to bring John to work, but this has backfired because the animals sometimes choose John as their favourite over Julie! Oops!
John provides a lot of the technical and administrative support for Pancake's Pet Care, so if there is a problem with website layout, invoicing, or anything else that isn't playing with the pets, it's probably his doing!
When he's not working with the animals, he is probably thinking about the animals, trying to prevent Julie from adopting more animals, or playing chess online!
Mary-Anne is Julie's mum and one of our biggest cheerleaders! She loves animals, and gets so excited to join us in looking after your precious pets, especially when we have a long stay. That way we can give even more attention to our clients!
She grew up with various pets, a dog, a rabbit, and a tortoise, and instilled in Julie a deep care and respect for all life.
In her spare time, you can often find her also curled up with a good book or playing bridge with Julie's father, Tony.
